Well,
No points for guessing, but I went watchin Bheja Fry yesterday nite, the 10.20 PM show, fully aware that today I needed to be in Mumbai first thing in the morning, but then you know my dedication to the cause :P.
Anyways, thankfully, Bheja Fry is one of the most delightful one-and-a-half-hour fare to come out of Bollywood in a long time and after a long time, I could literally hear the whole theatre in splits throughout the duration of the movie :).
Storywise, its the depiction of a supposedly-idiotic Vinay Pathak creating chaos in the life of the Gentleman who invites him over for a dinner with friends to showcase his idiocy, but in the bargain, ends up paying for much, much more. As you might suspect, it is actually a copy of a 1998 French movie, Le Dîner de cons (Is that why its soo good :P ?)
Shot in an almost theatrical manner, with minimalistic set applications, Bheja Fry excels with Vinay Pathak taking the cake in every sequence, while the other actors support him wonderfully well. The much-hyped Ranveer Shorey cameo is nothing spectacular except that a plot-twist ends up making it hilariously successful. And, you walk out of the theatre a happy bunch, blissfully unconcerned with your 650 AM flight (which means wake up at 5 AM) next morning :D.
All said and done, go and watch it. It will be brisk business !!!
Taz !
Ranjan
P.S. : For the next 6 months, I am in Mumbai mainly :-(, will miss Gurgaon's well-paved, traffic-less streets !!
